So last year I traded some games and one of the cabinets was what I would say is a dedicated Data East (DECO) cocktail. It was home to a tape drive version DECO Burgertime.

Sadly, it's missing the power supply and the monitor. I would say, from the monitor mount points, that it was larger (19" ?)

Can anyone provide more information about the missing monitor... type, size, replacement, wiring diagram?

Failing that, suggestions for a suitable substitute?

I have a one of Dave Widel's Deco Cassette Multigames and would really like to use it in this cabinet.

The plastic shroud is your answer. I will place a guess that because of the coin box location that had a 13" - 14" in it? Measure the inside diameter of the plastic shroud window.
I would assume you'll most likely end up having to custom fab a mounting bracket for it.

My first thought it is a 13 inch or 15 inch monitor connected to brackets which connect to your four L bracket mounts.
The monitor i thought would be a toei monitor, but then i saw it said sanyo on your tab so i do not know now.
It looks like your monitor bezel is there so measure diagnally and see what the bezel measures so you get a idea.
I might have the monitor for that but not the frame i dont think. I will check.

Yeah... I am gonna measure that... just didn't have a tape measure handy when I went out there this morning to take a picture.

Looks bigger than 13 inches to me but I've been wrong, once or twice, in the past.
;-)

What about that shelf area on the same side as the coin bucket... seems like something (maybe the monitor chassis) was mounted there.

Thats right some of those had the chassis mounted on a board on the side.

All I can say is my upright had a 20" Nanao KZ20EN in it. (100V)

Beings this is a cocktail and guessing by the "18" it may have had something along the lines of the Sanyo XM-1801 maybe. (like Nintendo red tent cocktails)

This category of machines seemed to have some of the odd sized tubes.

Look almost exactly like the way the 18" monitor mounted in my Popeye cocktail. Here are some pics I took a while back:
