*deep breath*
Alright, so. I just want to make sure I do not fuck anything up here. Even though I've done my research, I still feel like a complete noob when tackling things like this. So, starting from the beginning. I have a Kortek KTA-915 sitting in this cabinet I am flipping to a Ms Pac. The monitor looks a bit too difficult for me to tackle at my current skill level, so we'll be taking it out and setting it aside for repair later. In the mean time I picked up a cheap monitor on CL. Here was our first problem:
The pinout has three wires. I note the positive and negative for the power, but it also has a ground. This wire hooks straight into the chassis of the new monitor. I am assuming that this means that this monitor does not require an isolation transformer. Am I correct in assuming this?
Here is another shot of the plug itself, for reference. I may need to find a female version of this to hook up to the power box at the bottom.
This is the hookup that goes to the power box. Too small to even jimmy it in.
Here is the new chassis which I have yet to identify. I did, however, notice that it has what appears to be an iso transformer built in (the neck is hiding it there just a bit). I'll do my research real fast and figure out what this is, but in the mean time does anyone have any solutions as to what I should do about my power problem? Have I made any mistakes? Please let me know how stupid I am immediately. Thank you everyone in advance!
