Please forgive me if this has been covered, but I am looking at a easy way for creating a on/off switch for my TV tube that I swapped out with bad original monitor. Everything works great with the new tube, however, I can only turn the tube on/ by using the remote.
And if I use a power switch, it only turns on still by remote.

How do I rig something so that when powerstrip is used, the TV actually comes on with the game and I don't have to use the remote. With the back door on, it makes if very difficult to turn the tv/tube on. I believe the tv is an older sharp version.

thanks for any tips on getting the tv to come on all the time without the use of remote.

Can you post a picture of what you have?

It sounds like you put a full on TV in your cab.

Based on how your TV works, what you want may not be possible.

It sounds like you are using a TV in place of an arcade monitor, I'm assuming with some kind of adapter or in a MAME cabinet. In order to have a TV auto power on you have to set that in the software of the TV itself, which some TVs don't support. If that's the case and your TV won't auto power on you can solder wires to the TV's power switch and run it to where the power switch for the cab is, or someplace easy to get to (like inside the coin door where a test panel goes) and wire in a momentary pushbutton switch. I had a MAME cab I picked up in a group buy of games that I fixed up to sell and had to do just what I described and it worked great.
