On 80's games.. How many diferent types of monitor power connections
are there and what are they (excluding vectors) ?

Short if pulling out my entire collection and seeing what they are and probably still missing a few.. I've seen 3 on my bench so far.

I have a bench isolation transformer and I'd like to build a monitor power
cable that covers all rasters from the 80s.

... probably of no help with what you're looking for. ... but... I just replace my monitor power connectors with these little jobbers (as needed). If I swap a monitor out and the connectors don't match up, I don't even bother hunting for what will match up, I just slap one of these on and call it a day.

FWIW, to the best of my recollection... I've seen about 3 as well. You might just have them all. I think the only one you might be missing is a straight 100V plug for Japanese monitors.

All my early stuff is the same .093 2 pin molex connector, if I remember right the electronic wherehouse by me gets about 4.00 for a 4 pack . just checked bob roberts site and they're a buck a pair; http://www.therealbobroberts.net/conectas.html
I also have an adapter that goes from the standard .093 2 pin to the later .084 3 pin like hantarex and WG 7400 and such. I've opened a few early cabs that had .093 3 pin molex connectors but most all the early original cabs were 2 pin (one round-one D shaped) molex .093 male on the monitor side..
Honestly I think most of it depended on they guy that serviced it, like the guy I met a few years ago that did all his in odd ball connectors just so he'd know if anyone else was in there etc..

We need to start a connection database.. would make things easier on
people.

From the monitors I have on the shelf I have 3 so far..

What others am I missing?

The first is a .093 2 pin molex connector. The second is .084 3 pin ?

The third ?

Scucci, those are for 9.6v batteries -- are you sure they're built to handle 120v monitor loads?

I thought about that, but after running a couple of them for a while, I felt secure enough to move the fire extinguisher back to the kitchen and not directly between Robotron and the Taito cabinet.

They work well enough for me, don't seem to get hot or anything. I bought them in a pinch and they're holding up. If your radio shack is better than the ones here (can't image they'd be any worse) then you'll be able to get proper connectors. The wire these looks a little shady in the picture on the site, but they're good enough to hold up IME.

#1 most popular
#2 correct .084 very common for later
#3 also .084 not real common only had one like that in 6years.

on my test rig my main is the 2 pin .093 and all my adapters plug into it, my video feed lines are set for early WG then I have adapters from it , and I also put on a seperate power adapter set up thats just 4 pin.093 and have adapters for hard drives and such from there, bought a 3 drawer plastic bin thing at the dollar store and have them all in it above my bench.. but your #1 and #2 is out the most and now it's just part of the bench stuff..lol
