I have an opportunity to buy a working wrestlefest for 100.00 and I am not sure I want it. It works but when it was first turned on it it made some snapping sounds from the monitor. It as about 40degrees at the time and I have heard this could be all it was but I am not sure. Pretty sure that is a 25" monitor right?

He said he would throw in a Tempest cab that was converted but has everything in it but the PCb and the monitor is on it's way out.

What is the concensus?

In my opinion the flyback is likely arcing. It is most likely a K7000 in there and fairly easy to fix. Do you have any soldering skills?

If you have the space take both cabs and then look into fixing the problem when you get home.

The monitor in the wrestlfest said RCA on it?

what else would be more fun in that cab? Guantlet?

any market for a nice Tempest cab?

That was the tube, the monitor chassis (circuit board) is what you need to ID.

Personally I would go with any of the Konami sidescrollers such as Captain America, TMNT, or The Simpsons.

Are you a member of the Portland Arcade Collector (PAC) community? They would be the people to ask about the Tempest cab. Contact user Theshanman about becoming a member if you aren't already.
