I was curious if one could use the magnetic material used to make magnets out of say a business card? Might have to experiment with it a bit.

Ive done some investigation on these strips. I do suppose you mean the plastic strips with sticky tape on one side and the "magnet" on the other.

These are NOT magnets though but something that we call "weak iron". This piece of metal is enough to influence the electromagnetic field for edge convergence correction.

In theory pretty easy to reproduce....just need some of that plastic material, weak-iron and double sided tape.

However, I prefer to get them from old TVs.

+1 - they're NOT magnetic.

Don't bother with Wells Gardner, I depleted their supply last summer.

Your best bet is to grab them from an old TV being thrown away. Pop the back off and you should find at least 2 if not more of them stuck in the yoke. I've done a few tube swaps over the past year, and I've been able to stash about a dozen of these strips in that time.

WG Yoke Tabs still available!

They are still available from Wells Gardner. I just ordered some on 8/23/2011. I forgot what the shipping was.

Minimum order is $25 though.

Call Lauren Nowosad at WG in the parts department at 708-290-2179.
