I was plugging in my qbert project a day or 2 ago(and I plug it in a lot lately it seems to test voltages on the boards with no problems)

And there was a blue/green flash and a pop, then the smell of smoke.

I just got a new multimeter so I am going to go in and test fuses and such later, but does this sound familiar to anyone, that can give me insight where to look first?

There are no loose wires, or connections I am quite certain.

K4900 I think, I need to look.

what do I need to do next ?

I do have another k4900 I just recapped but it doesn't have that sweet qbert burn,
it has track and field burn I think. lol

Swap the chassis from the track and field to the qbert tube so you can play it until you fix the other and put it back in your track and field.

Positively Identify the chassis, is the first thing you need to do.

yeah I will, I have 2 qberts and they are exactly the same monitor. Almost certain it's a k4900, but I truly won't know until I go check.

The other monitor is just sitting loose. It just happens to have track and field burn.

OK, it is a k4951

my back up is a k4901

Can I just switch chassis' ?

Ok Dokert one more question then.

do I need to worry that I am going to do the same thing to this chassis? Or was it just time to go for the flyback on that other monitor?

yeah, I guess I am just worried that I did something to cause a short or something in the first one.

The only thing I remember doing was plugging it in, and since the back door was off the button that gets pushed when the door
was closed was open. So I pushed it kind of quick I think, and it was kind of on then off in a split second. Then all the action.
