Lo all.

So, I have a couple monitors that exhibit this problem, and while I am sure a cap kit will help, I have never heard of this particular problem. I have these blue lines going across in a small diagonal pattern.

-like that.

Any ideas? Thats from a neotec 2701 on a dedicated Gauntlet Legends.

Not saying what is wrong with it...

but any time I get these lines (even after a cap kit), I turn the intensity on the flyback down, then increase the brightness pot. Give it a shot.

+1 the screen knob on ther flyback ot too high up..

turn doen the brightness and contrast knobs to about 1/2, then re-adjust the screen knob on the flyback. Back it off just untill those lines go away. Then re adjust the brightness and contrast knobs as needed untill the pic looks good.

The reason that the lines are blue is because the blue gun is apparently turned up the most. You could tinker with the blue gain and cutoff untill you have a little less blue..

Your whites and blacks should be pure. If they have a redm green, or blue tint to them, ajust the appropriate gain ad cutoff untill your whites and blacks are pure again.

If the picture is too dark after adjusting the screen control downward, replace the caps around the power supply section (or cap the whole chassis). I've been seeing the 2701, 2702 and 2703's come in the shop with bad caps in the power supply section causing low heater voltage and a dim image (heater voltage is SMPS derived, instead of off the flyback). The screen and brightness controls get cranked to try and get a brighter picture out of them when the caps start going out, and you get retrace lines from the screen voltage being too high.

Cap 'er up and adjust it!
