Monitor just started blowing fuses, nintendo playchoice 10

Hello, my monitor just started blowing fuses recently after being moved. I have a Nintendo playchoice 10 and it had been working fine until the move. I can power on the arcade with everything except for the monitor without any problems as soon as I plug in the monitor diffuse and either the power supply or on the monitor circuit board blows. I will post pictures of as much as I can. The monitor model is 19k7613 made by wells Gardner. I don't have much experience with this type of stuff.

that's part of the K7000 line. chances are your flyback is bad and/or it took out the HOT. if it's not either of these, you'll need to go over your resistors in the power supply and make sure there's no cracked solder joints. test R101 and R103, possibly R89 too.

and a totally random failure that was found on a monitor recently, shorted D10 (the diode for the shutdown circuit)

i can't tell if thats a zenith or not if it is you may need to junk the chassis because the flybacks are close impossible to get.

How do I check the Flyback?

How would I go about checking the flyback or the Hot? I did a good search and can now identify the flyback, but don't know how to disconnect or test it.

It seems that I need a k7600 flyback but I can't find one anywhere. Does anyone know of any mail in services to repair these?

you don't have a k7600 so a k7600 flyback won't work for you chassis model since you have a K7000A Zenith chassis (not a wells gardner).

chad at arcadecup has a mail in service and you may check with Paul400 or Buffett on here also and see if they work on that model.

Ok, the sticker said wells gardner 19k7613. I thought that meant I had a WG 19 inch k7600 monitor.

that frame had one in it originally but its been swapped out for the Zenith K7000A you have now.

Ok awesome thanks. Is this something I could do myself or should I let someone else do it? Also is there a way to verify that it is actually the flyback?

most people try it themselves and are successful. you can find the K7000A flyback but they are very expensive and almost cheaper to buy a completely new wells gardner K7000 series chassis and swap them, so there is many options depending what you want to do.

I'm just curious what kind of power a Zenith K7000 uses since this is a Nintendo cabinet. Is it made to run on 100v or has some workaround been done?

I'm not smart enough to be able to tell that lol, but I did test the input to the chassis and is around 125V. So I would guess that there is a workaround.

Would the tube work with a different chassis or do I need to replace the whole thing?

If it's another Zenith K7000a then you can swap monitor chassis no problem.

all k7000's of the same inch are compatible with a k7000a tube np. You will need to convert the chassis to do inverted nintendo video or just grab yourself a sanyo 20ez thats working.

See that's what I was thinking. A Sanyo is easy to find and that's what's supposed to be in there anyway.

If you can drop 150-200 on a sanyo than you're good otherwise you'll need to buy a k7000 chassis and mod it yourself for inverted video, you'll need to replace the flyback which is a must, cap the thing and hope it works.
