Hi everyone,
I am looking at a Gauntlet: Dark Legacy machine for sale in my area. I fired it up and there was a black bar down the middle of the screen. I tinkered with the screen settings but all I could do was slide the black bar left or right. Can someone, if possible, let me know if this is an easy fix or should I stay away? I appreciate your help.

What does that typically entail? I am not very technical, and if it involves messing with the electrical components, it may not be the right choice for me. I would already have to re-attach the control panel. I know these are minor issues but for someone like me, it's a lot.

Usually it is just a question of realigning some pots, but depending on the monitor it may need some actual repairs to get there. Honestly, if you aren't willing to do minor electronic adjustments on machines yourself this hobby will get very expensive very quickly.

I have no issue giving it a shot myself and "getting my hands dirty". My concern is that I don't know what I'm doing and I will make the condition worse instead of making it better.

Mistakes happen, they are part of the learning experience.

In my opinion this is a very minor problem, most likely fixed with a simple adjustment or possibly correcting a wiring problem someone else created when they changed something without researching what they were doing.
