Monitor image "waving", Noise filter issue?

Okay so this has been bugging me for a very long while now and I can't take it anymore. I finished up all my other projects so I decided to fix up my beatmania cabinet as best I can.

A few months ago the monitor on my beatmania machine died. We replaced the chassis with a brand new one (same exact chassis, not a 3rd party one or anything). We thought the "waving" might have been because the caps needed to be replaced, but the problem stayed even with the new chassis installed. Me and a friend went through the cabinet and made sure everything was grounded properly, and it is. We don't know why this is happening, but our guess is that it could happen if the noise line filter has died.

Here is a picture of what the screen looks like currently...

I can snag a video tomorrow if that doesn't seem to capture exactly what I am talking about. For those curious the chassis is a NT-2701.

And if the noise line filter needs to be replaced to fix the monitor issues what sort of replacement should I look for? Is there any specific that needs to match with the ones that is currently in there?

Thanks for any thoughts, ideas or input!

NOTE: I did not resize images so you can see the specifics of each image.

Really basic but- is this game plugged into a power strip or sharing an out let with anything else? Perhaps a fan near bye? I had an issue like this once and it was driving me nuts, turned out there was a fan plugged in the power strip and was causing all the noise. Removing it solved the problem.

Nope. Plugged straight into the outlet. Its been at four other locations all without a powerstrip and it has always had the problem. Only recently has it gotten significantly worse.

i'd try replacing the big capacitor on the chassis
sounds like A/C is getting through and buggering up the image

I have the same issue with a monitor and everyone I have talked to says change the big cap. I have not done it yet, but plan to seen. If you do, let us know the outcome.

Edit: Here is a video of mine in action. Sorry for the stupid song, the audio screwed up on my phone when I took it so I covered it up.

Is that what yours is doing?

No that is not what mine is doing. Should have taken a video when I went in today. I'll post back on here with the video of mine when I go in on Friday.

Does the monitor have a cabinet ground wire attached to the frame? If so, try removing it and see if the wave goes away. I had a game recently where the picture had a wave to it. Removing the ground wire from the cabinet ground to the monitor frame got rid of the wave.

No update yet sadly. It got too crazy for me this weekend. I'll get a video uploaded next time I head into the arcade. Should be able to stop in Tuesday or Wednesday.

-bump-

Want to try to get this problem solved over the next couple days while I have downtime. And if it is a noise filter issue I don't know if it even matters what kind I buy. Any insight would be great!
