This is a 2006 Pump it Up NX game, there is a Samsung sticker on back of tube that has a model number A8DQFM891X002 but I believe that is just the tube, it is a flat screen. There are pics attached of the board but no identifying markings of what it is. Help? I am new to this and I have noticed that some of you are very good at identiying them, I went to the two websites mentioned on other posts but couldn't find any similar pics? It seems to want to get power because I hear the static pop when plugging in but I get no picture what so ever. I don't know if a capkit will help, probably, but I don't even know which kit to order. Thanks a million for any suggestions!

Jeff

Yeah, that number is just the picture tube. I'm not familiar with the really new monitors, so I can't really tell what that is from the picture. But, you do realize that the neckboard isn't plugged into the tube, right? Did you unhook that for the picture, or was it just never plugged in?

You say you hear static - that's good. But are you getting high voltage? Try turning up the SCREEN control on the flyback to see if you get a hazy white picture.

Does the rest of the game work? I.e., can you hear the sounds, coin it up and start a game? If the game isn't working, then you won't get anything on the screen.

I unhooked the neck tube for the picture... I knew someone would ask me that :) The rest of the game is working, flashing and pumping out tunes. Just no pic on TV, It is solid black with no contrast or brightness at all.

Well, the picture isn't all that good, but I'm pretty sure it is a Kortek KT-2914F:

BTW - if it is, this is pretty much the Kortek version of the WG D9200, and has inherited some of it's flaws.

Are you getting anything on the screen when you turn up the screen control (brightness) on the flyback? If you can get the menu to pop up, try holding DOWN and SEL at the same time, the do a memory recall/reset and see if that helps...

That's it!!!

That is exactly the monitor, and I'll be dang if what you said worked! It's playing and everything is good, the reds seem to be a little out of whack but the focus is good and it's playing, now for my rythm on the game....that's where I get my screen name know rythm!!! Thanks a million, if you are close to Lexington, KY I'd take you to lunch or something to repay for your advice! Do you think a cap kit would help the reds?

Jeff

Maybe. In the factory menu, you can turn the red gain all the way up, then adjust it in the regular menu to see if you can get it where you want it...
