I need to install a new cap kit on this K7000, but Bob Roberts has a ton of different ones. This monitor seems to match the K7101 manual that I have, with a P448 neckboard. Anybody know any different? Also, it has a Zenith 25" tube. I have heard they are not reliable. While I'm installing a cap kit for my friend should I go ahead and replace the tube? I've never actually seen this machine running and have no idea what is wrong with it yet. Oh, the serial number is WG590250.

Prob not.

I realize that there are shitty Zenith boards out there, but I don't think this is one. WG used Zenith tubes in many of their chassis. Mostly I only want to know if anyone an positively ID this chassis, Down to the K7xxx number. Because as far as I can tell, it exactly matches the manual I have for a 25" K7101.
If you have a different board in mind, let me know. But from what I can see, it is not Zenith board, only a Zenith tube.

Yes, your picture clearly shows you have the K7000a Zenith flyback there. You're screwed if the flyback has gone bad. if it's still good then you can capkit it. It uses the standard k7000 capkit.

BTW - if you ever aren't sure which version you have, look at the footprint of the flyback. If it looks like U, then it is a Well-Gardner. If it looks like a C, then it is a Zenith.

The good news is you can swap a WG version on without changing the yoke...

Hell, you don't even need to flip it over.......if the flyback has "fins" on it, it's a Zenith!:D
