It's a wells garner, looks like a WG 25k 7191. Does the main board have P538 stenciled into it?

If the pot is doing anything, it's more than likely the caps are bad around it. If you haven't capped it, that would probably fix it.

The caps specifically would be C10 (1uf, 50V) and maybe the C22 (1uf,50V). The other thing is if you have two sync wires going into the set of (3), try clipping one of them off. You only need one sync line in that model.

(If the board has P538 stenciled in it)

Nope, it's either a K7400/K7500/U2000/U5000, but without a better pic of the center of the board, I can't be more specific...

EDIT - Actually, I see it uses a P718, and I don't see the resolution-select plugs, so it's most likely a U2000. It probably has a label on the back left corner that says WGM2520...

Yep, it does. From what I can find, it's a U5000 monitor. It is NOT the first guess I had. Please download the monitor schematics from here:

www.wellsgardner.com/pdf/Repair/U5000_25_inch.pdf

First try this, if there are two sync wires on the little 3 prong, cut the jumper off one of them. That monitor only needs one. Since the sync wires go to the same place, it doesn't hurt it to do that.

Download that manual and see if that's the monitor you have. The manual has pics of the actual board.

If it is, and that trick above doesn't fix it, you probably have to cap it.

What is the game, and is this monitor new to the setup?

The U5000 is a dual-res monitor, so make sure you have the resolution connector on the proper plug. It won't sync if it's not. Don't try to move it while the monitor is on or you'll blow the HOT...
