I picked up my first cab and the monitor needs some work. It's a Neo Geo mini with a 13" monitor. The chassis is labeled as a Ducksan but I'm not seeing a lot of info on those. I looked at the Bob Roberts monitor ID page and nothing jumped out at me as a match.

Screen and focus controls on the flyback, left hand side of board. V hold/size/loc, h hold/loc, brightness, saturation on the back of the mobo. R/G cutoff/drive top of neck, B cuttoff/drive on right side of neck.

The symptoms are vertical waves on the left side of the monitor, faint snow in the background, and a hard time adjusting colors properly. I figure I'll start with the cap kit and see where that gets me. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Yes, that looks like a k7000. Look on the main board near the center. There should be a screened number. The number should be P447 if it is a K7000.

Okay, thanks for the help. Certainly makes it easier to find the cap kit. The thing that threw me was for the K7000 pic all the pots on the neck were on top whereas this one has the red and green on top, blue on the right hand side.

So does it seem like those problems (vertical waves left side, snow, color issues) are something typically taken care of by a cap kit or should I be looking at replacing anything else too? Might as well get them all at once when I place the order.

The cap kit is a good start and will likely fix your problems. However, you have the original flyback in there and they are failure prone - usually cracking/arcing which results in a fluctuating picture. If you want to fix it and forget it I suggest you replace the caps and flyback.

Looks like I'll just go with the whole K7000 repair kit from Bob Roberts and take care of it all in one shot. Thanks again.
