Hey all,
I'm new to the forum - and the hobby - and I've run into a bit of trouble with my first purchase. The game itself - The Act! - is great, and works like a charm. However, the monitor that came with the 25" Dynamo cab has some problems. It was supposedly recapped, but the screen is very dark, and occasionally a single while like flickers in and out horizontally near the bottom of the screen. The harness wiring has been checked and seems to be ok, but I have no experience tweaking the brightness of this type of monitor (the seller told me it was a 25" Wells-Gardner K7000) and quite frankly I think I'd have a good chance of frying either myself or it (or both!) if I tried. Consequently, if there's anyone in the Chicago area that has some expertise with this sort of thing, let me know. Perhaps you could come around, take a look, and see if it can be salvaged (I know I can replace it, but a 25" with no burn in shouldn't be wasted) - and of course play some rounds on a game that not many people have seen on the wild. (If you are unfamilliar with The Act!, it's like a modern-day Dragon's Lair only without the laser disk, and the control is a spinner knob). I'd also welcome any and all input from the members of the forum.
Thanks again, and I'm glad to be here!
