I'm hooking up the J-PAC adapter tonight in my Neo Geo cab. Its a conversion from an older Defender cab. The monitor itself (the glass) has an RCA sticker on it, but the board has a model number: Wells Gardner 19K4901.
The manual on the Wells Gardner model number says it runs at 50 hz - 60 hz. I'm wondering if I can send a video signal to it from the PC without damaging it.
Thanks for any help.

Check the forum at arcadecontrols.com. That's what they do over there. But the answer is that you will need a video card that candle handle the correct frequency range for your monitor. A variety of cards can handle it. Some are specifically made for it such as the ArcadeVGA from Ultimarc.

There is a freeware called 15 KHZ made by someone in Germany that will drive many older computer video cards. Hopefully the attched zip file will fix you up.

A wonderful utility, but it's mostly geared toward newer cards, not older. Though it does have some older card capability, it's pretty limited.

I do believe there's a list of what works and what doesn't on SailorSat's page.

Thanks for all the help guys!
Unfortunately my video card is too old for soft 15hz.
I'm using the configuration utility with advancemame right now.
I'm stuck again though... I can't find anything about the pixel, horizontal or vertical clock speed in the service manual for my monitor.
I guess I'll keep tweaking until something works.
