I actually have 2 different machines exhibiting the same behavior. One is a Med Res monitor, the other is a standard res (APB and Rolling Thunder). When first turned on, screens looks fantastic, but after a while of warming up the screen will go black. Game will play blind (in both instances), and if the machine is turned off for a while to cool down, the picture will come back.

If I had to guess, it sounds like a heat issue, which would lead me down the road of a bad solder joint somewhere. I plan on pulling the monitors out of these, but have not done so just yet. I'm usually pretty good with troubleshooting, but I am a total n00b when it comes to monitors.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can lend...

sounds like weak tubes, bad solder joints, weak caps.

Id start by checking tubes if you have access to a rejuvenator.

If good or you dont have a rejuve, proceed to re- capping and solder checks, pray lol

So I pulled the Rolling Thunder out today, and it played for a while. After a while the monitor went out, I looked and it is getting proper voltage (120VAC) but there isn't any neck glow. Should I order a cap kit and a new flyback, or should I just start looking for a replacement monitor?

Its a 19K7201, and it looks like I have to pull the entire front out of the cab to get it out either way.. :(

Its shutting down for some reason.. No picture and no neck glow.... hmm.. definitely shutdown then. Probably not the tube in this case.

The last k7000 i had that would go dark when hot (and had verified tube issues) would still have neck glow because it was still on and running, the crt was simply unable to produce a picture.

Id proceed with capping/flyback and and check the k7000 sticky for areas to check (and double check!!) for crappy solder joints.
