got a computer monitor to hook up to a 60 in 1 but it is dvi. so i bought a dvi to vga adaptor but it is not picking up a signal? any help? thanks [email protected] i have tried the switch on the pcb that does not work plugged another vga computer monitor in and it works fine.

I have a brand new DVI monitor myself, but hooked to my computer. I had quite a bit of trouble initially getting the monitor to recognize when the DVI cable was attached. It kept trying to default to the VGA input. That may be your problem. But I guess if your monitor just had a vga you'd use it right?

Maybe your adaptor is bad?

dvi monitor

no vga input or i would not have to buy an adaptor monitor comes on checks signal from both inputs (both dvi) but gets no signal how do i change things on the monitor with no pic? how can i set inputs to vga? thanks Paul

You need to have some sort of signal going into the monitor to adjust the settings. Once you get some sort of signal going to it, you will be able to switch it via the menu. If it's like some monitors, you may only have a few seconds before the settings revert, so make sure you have the vga source standing by and ready for the quick change. That's about all the help I can be.

Some more recent monitors with DVI may not even support VGA resolution (640x480), especially the widescreens. 640x480 is what is coming out of the VGA on your 60-in-1 board. VGA is becoming legacy, so a lot of new LCD monitors may not support VGA anymore. Everything for desktop and media PC applications is Widescreen and HD nowadays. Manufacturers find no value in supporting VGA. OK, rant over.

Have you tried using that monitor and DVI adapter connected to a regular PC and setting the resolution to 640x480 ?

Therer's two DVI configs and you're most likely using the wrong one. By holding the DVI cable in hand facing you \____/ On the left side you'll either see

--- OR --- <--no pins above or below)

I strongly suspect for your config you have the wrong one.

Notice the analog section - it's what I'm describing above.
