My 19K7302 passed the smoke test. I have some snaps of my results.

Few questions...

I have three adjustment pots on this chassis. I also have one switch. I don't see anywhere else to adjust anything else.

I have a remote board that has a cracked adjustment pot. When I plug in the remote board the monitor goes dark. When I unplug the remote board the monitor returns to the three R G B bars.

I also turned the flyback down so I didn't overdrive the tube.

I have circled the three adjustment pots on the chassis I can find in red with the switch I mention.

So I have some progress and the darn thing didn't blow...

Now can anyone tell me what I might adjust to get this thing on track?

The yoke and rings are off that is for sure. Just not sure which way to adjust this thing.

Opinions?

Could the yoke be to close to the tube?

You do have a confirmed working game board hooked up to it, right? K7000s don't have a "NO SIGNAL" screen.

Try turning up the flyback screen pot with the remote board attached. Does it stay dark, go from black to white, or do you get a picture at some point?

Leave the remote board hooked up regardless, it shouldn't pop anything and you won't get a useful image without it anyway.

Yep confirmed working board.

We messed with it and messed with it. That darn remote board was one of the issues in the way. I kept digging around and finally found a scrap tv chassis that had a really close adjustment pot on it. I installed that and now the monitor will stay on if the remote board is plugged in.

Cool so now we could try to adjust it out. Here are some snaps of where I am at now.

Thanks because your post confirmed that that darn remote board had to be fixed / plugged in to work!

Now I still have issues but I am getting closer! It is a little bright outside so the sun/overcast is washing out some of the picture for the camera.

I guess I need start looking for other peoples problems with this chassis. I knew it was gonna need some work. I might need to reflow some stuff on it. I guess a new flyback and cap kit wouldn't hurt either. I think this chassis was made in 2002.

Anyway I will move my rig inside so i can get some better shots in a bit.

Well here are some shots with the monitor inside the house. Not to bad for my first real tube swap. Granted I still have issues with the monitor. So I am open for some suggestions.

I will tell you this, I am beat and this thing has kicked my ass today! My diabetes is catching up with me tonight so im not thinking real clear either. It's time to shelve this puppy for another day.

I will say one more thing, this is now the cleanest monitor I now have! I can't wait to get it straight.

Rock on...
