I recently picked up a Crazy Kong cocktail that needed some work, just about got everything done on it except the monitor. It has crazy colors at the top and bottom, but the center looks pretty good. It also appears to be slightly out of convergence at the bottom. Here's some pics:
Cocktail, player 1 and player 2 (upside down) bad colors:

Here's what it's supposed to look like (using a monitor in a different cabinet that's pretty close to correct):

And for comparison, I hooked up my 48-in-1 to both cabinets, 1st is the Crazy Kong monitor with the bad colors, 2nd is the other cab with good colors:

Good colors (sorry it's upside down, but I oriented it so both pics matched. Also has "Test" letters because I used to test switch on the cabinet):

A few things I've done: I borrowed a degaussing ring from a friend and it helped a tiny bit. I can get the 2nd beam from the bottom to look a little closer to the correct color, but not much else. I've also twisted the yoke a tiny bit and straightened the pic out (you can see it's not straight in the bad color test pic. I took that before I straightened it). I don't know what kind of monitor it is, other than it's 14" and says Hitachi on the tube. If you go to Bob Roberts "What's my monitor" page, the chassis looks identical to the "unknown1" one on this page:

The cabinet itself has "Taito" and Space Invaders artwork on the control panel.
Thanks for any help!

make sure your video cables are not running along side the flyback, and degaussing it should work.....moving in a circular motion around the picture tube and backing away as you go, then you turn the coil perpendicular toward the tube as you turn it off.Good Luck...

Video cable is on the opposite side of the chassis and cabinet from the flyback. I did do the circular motion thing with the ring, but I didn't turn it perpendicular as I turned it off. I just tried it, still no luck. I did get the 2nd beam from the bottom looking a little better, or the top by the score (so it's red instead of blue), but can't get both. I also notice the yoke is pretty loose. I can rock it back and forth quite easily. I can't see the backside, but it does have 2 rubber wedges visible from the door, one on the front left and one on the right side.

Pulled the monitor out this morning and took a look at it, and saw why the yoke was so loose...it was way down on the neck. I snugged it up to where it should be against the rubber wedges, and got an almost perfect picture (still off a tiny bit on convergence at the bottom edge). So I start putting back the screws on the corner tabs in the frame (with it on) and it blows a fuse...4A on the input by the line filter. Replaced that one with a slow blow from another game, and it blows another 4A on the monitor chassis. Replaced that one, took the screws out pulled the monitor out and see nothing wrong. Set it back in, it works. Turn it off this time, put the screws back in, turn it back on, and it blows the one by the line filter again...any ideas? Could it be something with the yoke? (maybe that's why it wasn't snugged up where it should be?). I'm out of 4A fuses at the moment, so I've stopped messing with it.
To show the colors being fixed, here's the before and after pic:

after (there's a little glare from an outside window on the right side):

Maybe take a look at all your earth ground wiring or straps running from the power center to the rest of the metal parts in your cabinet. Sounds like something is contacting something it should not be.

The only thing I could think of off the top of my head was the degaussing wire, since where it's strapped to the tube, it touches the mounting rails for the monitor. I disconnected it for now, but since I was out of 4A fuses, I haven't had a chance to test it yet. I'm gonna pick up a couple packages of them in the morning.

It's apparently the degaussing wire around the tube. I bought a bunch of fuses this morning, put the screws back in, left the degaussing wire unplugged from the chassis, put a new fuse in, and it fired right up. Turned it off, plugged the degaussing wire back in, turned it on, and it blew the line-in fuse. Unplugged the degaussing wire again, put a new fuse in, and it didn't blow. There must be a bare spot somewhere on the degaussing wire that's touching either the corner tabs on the monitor or the mounting rails.
