how do i know if i need a cap kit and not a new chassis? color changes after warming up the monitor? monitor wont turn on but heard a static noise on power up. and how do i know what chassis i have? need some guidance. i have an astro city nanao ms9 chassis, monitor turns on but no pics, and the other is 25" on a 3koam, monitor has picture but turns bluish after 1 minute.

3KOAM is a generic cab. Many used 25" K7000s but you should really take a picture of the chassis.

If it looks the same as the monitor you bought from me PB then it's a K7000.

Take a picture of your symptom and your chassis. It's usually a good idea to cap it anyways. You can bring me the while monitor to test if you you like. I'll help you test it and or put it on my Rejuvinator to test/clean.

I'll take pics later today, I think its a wg k7000 p538 chassis, anyone selling cap kits here? I might want to try and do my first cap kit.

are these a k7000 series? two differnt chassis. one has a collapse veritcal line in the middle of the screen and the other one picture turns different color after 2 minutes of playing (more bluish and less red). would a cap kit fixes these issues i have? thanks.

cap kits are always a good first step in fixing color issues like you descibe. the vertical collaspe most likey is not a cap problem but i have been told by people who play there games for months getting worse and worse until its a line instead of fixing it. if the line just appeared one day its not a cap problem. and yes they are k7000's chassis

those can be fixed pretty easily.

start with a cap kit and re flow of the chassis and neck board.

if they're blowing fuses then you have another problem.

Thx Prairiedillo for fixing my cold solder on the video pin connector, the colors are perfect now. didnt even need to recap it.

Those caps were crusty so you should anyways just to learn.

yes you should do the cap kit it will look even better. and you will have allot less problems if the chassis goes bad for some reason.
