Hey all,

I've got a good Hitachi 19" Tube that I've done a rejuv on and tests out great. Problem is that it doesn't have a chassis to go with it.

The resistance on the yoke is 2.4 ohm on the horizontal and 13.5 on the vertical.

So I happen to have one of these universal chassis replacements for 14-19" monitors. It reads on the box:

SLightly different to what I have but I figured what the hell, let's plug it in and see how the image looks.

The color and image looks near perfection spare one hankering problem: Near the top of the screen there is a strange distortion as seen here:

I've played with all the dials and just can't seem to get it to improve. Anyone know what to tweak to get this looking better?

Thanks in advance

The horizontal and vertical resistances on your yoke are higher then what that chassis will work with. Highly unlikely that an adjustment is going to fix it.

Thanks for the response. Yah i think you're right. Darn so close! I've heard of adding inline resistance to the yoke but I need to go the opposite way. Is that possible? make less resistance in a yoke or is that just part of the windings and no way to do it.

Not sure I have one but next time I do, I'll deffo hook it up. Is there more of a risk damaging the tube or the chassis in unknown circumstances like these? Just curious

it can in some cases damage the chassis.
there is always that chance.

i have used K7000's with those readings before and have had no issues.

Peace

In the meantime take that chassis and find the nearest trash can :p I heard they're awful and don't last very long. I hope you didn't pay a lot for it! :O
