Monitor Adjustment help request

Update: Got the game working pretty good now. Hits almost everywhere on important screens.

Would it be a good idea to replace the opto sensor? Or is it likely not going to help. I'll be rebuilding the gun anyway as the springs are all worn out.

From what I can tell Dark grey is still a bit off, would it even be worth messing with?

i would use buffett's video and try to get it adjusted as perfect as you can and if your taking the gun apart definitely clean it and check the opto sensor because i have seen them with legs ready to break off from people hitting the gun. if you need the sensor i should have them in stock. check your opto pcb for cold solder joints on the connector.

At this point I think it's safe to say the issue is your shotgun, dude.

You own more shooters than I probably ever will though so heh

just for testing, turn up your brightness on the screen a little at a time and see if the gun registers better the brighter it gets.

yes i know the screen may wash out as you do this.

i am wondering if the tube is the issue and not the gun or chassis.

i had this same thing happen on my invasion and what the end result was, is the tube needed a rejuve.

once the rejuve was done the colors and white balance was reset to perfect, black level and the contrast and brightness not over driven and the game worked like a champ even in the corners where the convergence was off.

post your results.

I can hit almost the entire screen (all but a sliver in the top left) but I need to be VERY close, like 12inches.

This is after getting the colors perfect and the black levels being 90%.

I've tried many combinations. Increasing the blue drive seemed to help a hair.

I don't have a rejuver so that's going to suck if that's what I need to do...I also can't get the monitor out of the cabinet, the metal bracket is stuck to another bracket.

Might just need to realize it's a lost cause.

as long as that sliver is not needed to play the game i would not worry about it.

K7000 tubes were not the best from the factory, so it would not surprise me that it needs a rejuve.

If I wanted to buy a rejuver, would any off ebay work? Could you point me to one? It'd be nice to have one for the $60 it costs.

Also, how come everything looks good on the monitor? Is there something I'm missing? How come I have other games that work just fine with lesser brightness.

I guess I just find this confusing!

this is a good one.
same one i use all the time.
if i did not already have 3 of them i would buy it for myself.

looks like all the guages work, you could make him an offer.

it does not apear to have the CR-23 adapter, but i make them so you can get one from me if you do not get one with ti.

all games are made differently, some games just work better than others on different monitors.

Would it be worth trying to replace the opto sensor is it safe to assume it's the monitor?

you could take the gun apart, clean it and the lens.
reflow it while you have it open.

you can use the camera on your phone to check if it is working.

i don't think the sensor is bad, normally they either work or they don't.

I put a bid in for the rejuver.

Also, I was looking into upgrading to BBH Call of the Wild, wouldn't happen to know if this had better detection would ya?

either way, I guess we've come to a conclusion eh?

lets hope you get it.

i don't know about BBH Call of the Wild, never had one.

it will improve your monitor all the way around.
if it does not improve it to your standards for the shooting games, you can always swap the monitor into another game that it will work in.
