I found at least 30 quarters in the bottom of my neo geo...one of these days i'll get 'em out

In every game ive bought from my op theres always a ton of quarters in the bottom of the cab, i got a 4 coin slot rampage that every coin mech was jammed full of quarters, about $12 worth, and another $15 in the bottom of the cab

I also like when the seller has lost the keys, and the game has been sitting for a while, I had to drill the lock on my stratovox, and there was $11 in quarters, the newest one was 1989 the oldest 1965, along with a spare set of keys for the entire cab,

The guy that had it before me chose to drill out the other two cab locks and not the coinbox lock.

A few dollars here and there but I once found a nice set of Craftsman socket wrench, mag light and about an ounce of the green stuff in a gallon zip lock bag. Of course I did what ever honest law abiding citizen would do and it returned it the owner

Me... the best I've done is probably a couple bucks in quarters under about 5 lbs. of candy wrappers, dirt, and cigarette butts.

So did you count the ounce of the sticky icky as over $25 in the poll?

No I didn't but considering I paid $25 for a working game, I didn't want this person coming after me. They had my name and contact number plus I'm not into the 420 scene

I bought a Space Invaders off ePay last year. (My second game). It was advertised as follows:

Original Space Invaders
Mint condition
In storage since 1980
No way to test or plug in
cabinet locked with no keys
cash still in coin box.

The story was, the sellers father owned a bar in the 70's. When his father passed away, everything went into storage.

I drove to Buffalo NY to pick this thing up and....

It was sitting beside a working outlet with the plug lying on the floor. The cabinet was dented and scuffed to the point beyond what would be considered junk. the back door was pried off damaging the wood and the coin door was opened through the back. The game did not work (still doesn't). The coin counter showed 40000 some odd plays etc etc.

What a joke.

Anyhow I did find a quarter when cleaning out the crud and busted particle board.

I guess it only cost me 299.75 then.

In my own games I have never found more than a few quarters in any one game. Usually its things like mentioned above, cigarette buts, dirt, mouse nest. I did get a beer bottle one time. I did find about 100 nickels in a game the other day but it wasn't my game.

When i bought Ninja Warriors from aladdins castle back in, maybe 91, they just unplugged it and told me to get it out. When i opened the coin door there was about $45 in the box and $20 in the cab. That's by far my best score yet.

In a Dinoscore redemption game I found 70+ dollars in Quarters. Guy bought it from a warehouse and never checked it out. Only paid 108 for the game :) Other than that a few quarters some tokens but not much. Did find a recipt for back takes for a arcade. :)

And you *still* bought it? Non-working SI beat to hell?

Yes I did. It was an eBay purchase and regardless of how honest/dishonest the seller was, I honoured my end of the deal. You pays your money, you takes your chances. I wasn't happy about it and said so but, I have always preached that the only thing in life that cannot be taken from you is your word, and mine is good and thats that.

i bought 2 neo geos for $125. one of them had $57.50 in it and the other had $10.25. i dont know how the one with $57.50 in it even worked because there were quarters all over the power board. i was lucky it did not short out.

Won a 2 player sit-down Cisco Heat off of eBay for $50.

Drove a hour to pick it up. It was close to my sisters house, so I stopped there so the trip wouldn't be all arcade related.

Got home and cleaned out about $52.23 from the inside of the cabinet.

Nice! Can't beat a free game. I never find anything more than a few bucks. I do soda machine vending too and find quarters/change in weird places all the time.

bought a non working pole position for $38, got it home, $48 in quarters found inside:) The coin door was kicked in and a absolute nigthmare getting open even with a crowbar! but it paid off. Also, found a 1979 Penthouse and five empty beer cans in a Space Invaders cab before..
