Looks like a good one for the NE Oklahoma or Arkansas KLOV'ers to attend,
its 2.5 hours South of KC down around Joplin, wasn't there some collectors
from Joplin area or an old operator that sold out a few years ago from down
in that area ?

Hey Everyone, I don't know if this auction is going to happen. Today I called the American Legion in Monett at about 11am to ask about it. The guy that picked up the phone had no clue about an auction this weekend. :(

Maybe the guy has no clue in general. If you could find out who is doing the auction, maybe they can confirm if it is still going happen.

Is there an auctioneers name or # on the
sale bill anywhere ?

Well this auction was a huge waste of time. The auction service was Wilkins Auctioneering Service. Tons of phantom bidders. 1st game sold was a half ass Ms. Pac-Man with screen burn it went for $1000, next game a Galaga in about the same shape $750. Some other highlights a warped Dynamo Air hockey for $750 and (2) Dynamo Bar Pool tables $975 each. Some shitty CD Juke boxes for $1300 each. I couldn't believe some of the prices, $515 for a MKII conversion, $750 for a blurry Hydro Thunder, Ect.
All the games came from a place called "Just for Fun Amusement and Vending".

I showed up way late, and I was glad I did. Seemed like a pretty lame auction, and the auctioneer was annoying as hell. I only saw him sell 4 games and the pins, and it was about all I could take. Prices seemed out of line from what I saw sell.

Did you happen to note what the converted Star Wars cockpit went for?

A little off topic but I noticed you were all in a fairly close region to me. I live in Kansas city And just started collecting about 3 months ago. I was wondering what the community was like around here aNd how reasonable people price the arcades. That auction sounded out of control in pricing and im curious how often that happens. Also I was wondering if there were any people that were willing to help or teach the ins and outs of arcade repairs. I'm in the middle of my first ever cap kit so I'm interested to see if I succeed at something that is said to be basic. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I really don't think there is a community around us. I have met a few people in Springfield like (bigjeeps1) on here, he's cool and has about 10 games and some pins that I know about, then (jeeptrail) is also on here he has about 6 games and is good at monitor & PBC repair. But to be honest I have had to send strange/hard monitor chassis to www.arcadecup.com and Chad has been great, he is on here also but I forgot his ID. I did meet a guy in Forsyth, MO about a year ago that has 125 pins and monitor rejuvenator so he has been a nice guy to know. But in KC I have dealt with Nate and Joey @ Palmentere Games (I know peeps on here hate them, but I have no issues with them. If something is wrong they fix it, refund it or give it to me for free.) I don't think anyone can beat their prices on complete ready to go games. I have bought 10-12 in the last year and only had 1 totally die. But as far as auctions go, I think the buy back and bidding on your own stuff is crazy. But I'm more than willing to help if needed.
