I have an upright mini Monaco GP that is starting to go bad. It plays, but the roadway renders WAY too fast and there is no traffic aside from the rescue vehicle.

That aside, I'm trying to find out what some of the things are on the logic boards. There is one pot and one toggle switch on Logic Board A. Can someone tell me what those do?

There is also a slew of pots on the far inner board (which I'm assuming is display).I tried adjusting ANY of them slowly, but as I adjust them I see no difference, no matter what I do.

Anyone have good documentation on all these pots (and the one toggle)?

I would avoid adjusting things that you have no idea what they are :D

PDF Manual here:

Most likely you have a board failure or a power supply issue.

Start by checking your voltages at the power supply, then test them on the PCB.

If those are good then you'll need to find the area of the schematics that relate to the function that has failed and start testing with your logic probe.

The hard part might be finding replacement parts.

I had a problem with the rescue car on mine. I didn't know what to do either so I swapped out a couple matching ics in the section for the board that pertained to the rescue car and was able to determine which ic was bad. Easy fix.

If I remember right the pots controlled the music pitch and tempo so don't mess with them.

+1. They are for the fanfare music and shouldn't be adjusted...unless someone already messed with them. If the fanfare music sound good when you start up the game, leave them alone.

Here is the video of my issue, complete with commentary! heh

BTW How do you embed YouTube vids?

Well, maybe it's set to "Easy" :D

Interesting. So I guess the first place to look is the "other cars" section of the schematics.

Looking at the schematics, they are bit confusing (and hard to read).

Anyone know what the abbreviations are? Such as the Hx where x is a number?

Each chip also has a number rather then a ROW/COLUMN.

Does anyone have better documentation on Monaco GP?
