Bought the CGA to VGA adapter from Jammaboards here: http://www.jammaboards.com/store/cga/ega/yuv-to-vga-converter-pcb-gbs-8220/prod_291.html

Once I got it wired in, I can see the game, and sometimes it looks nice, but there's sporadic interference in the form of a fat blue blob of a line that moves down the screen. I took a video to show what it's doing...

Any suggestions on what I could try to straighten this out? I couldn't see any sync controls in the menu or anything, so maybe it's an incompatible lcd monitor? It's just got that rolling blur...?

Try to adjust clamp st & sp In geometry menu.
The clamp st must be less than the clamp sp.
Put clamp st to 3 and clamp sp 4 and try again

the default clamp st and clamp sp in mine were 90 and 95. I adjust them in all sorts of varities (as long as clamp sp was the larger number) down to 85 or so, when it started cutting off the screen... nothing helped.

I did notice though, it seems to be PERFECT when there isn't much going on in the game (dark tunnel with only headlights) but has severe issues when there is colorful scenery and multiple cars moving quickly. Does that help any?

Thanks for your help!

Hi whoamonga,
I was browsing through an happen to see your message.

Have you tried adjusting the input RGB levels by lowering the 3 pots on the converter board (near the RGB input)?

I noticed before on certain games that if the RGB pots are fully on (max color level input), then it can sometimes make strange artifacts on the VGA output display. Putting the RGB input pots to about mid-range can correct this. I am not sure if it relates the problem you are seeing but it might be worth trying to see if it helps.
