Monaco GP Monitor replacement

Did you ever solve your problem? I am currently trying to figure out how to replace the stock monitor with a 20" hantarex, and am fighting sync issues as well (I assume that the sync wire should be attached to VSYNC on the hantarex, but neither that nor hooking it up to HSYNC or both sync pins helps).
