I am looking for a Molex crimper(s) to be able to crimp .093 receptacles along with .100 and .156 KK headers. It would also be nice to be able to crimp pins for molex edge connectors as well. I have been looking around and it is confusing on which crimper to buy for what application. The crimpers are very expensive and I can't afford to make too many mistakes when purchasing one.

If you have any model numbers or manufacturers you would recommend I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

I have the one bob sells, its ok. I also have a Molex HTR2445A, its far superior to the Waldom HT1921. Of course it costs alot more but you can find them used on ebay. If you do alot of crimp connectors you owe it to yourself to buy a good ratcheting crimper.

I'll have to look into that crimper, thanks for the info.

The only thing i don't like about bobs is the damn plastic grips slide off.

The Molex crimpers are great. There are different sizes, but the one mentioned here works well for the sizes listed. I also have a HTR1031E that I like better for .093, but both will work. You can find them on ebay for for about $30, and they are definitely worth it. These crimpers are also commonly listed under the Waldon brand name, and they are the same thing.

I use a HT-1919 Waldom HAND CRIMP TOOL FOR for .093" DIAMETER PINS.

I got it a FRYS for $16.00. http://www.frys.com/product/1651588?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

So far, it's worked all right at crimping everything I've tossed inside it.

But, I RED handles keep sliding off. And it's annoying. I ought ta super glue 'em on or something.

Hahaha! I thought that was just happening with mine... :)

Anyone have a good ratching molex crimper?

Yes, the HTR2445A is a ratcheting crimper. Dont get me wrong, the cheap molex one bob sells works but the ratcheting crimper works 5X better. Keep an eye out on ebay for them and expect to pay around 50 bucks for a set.
The handle grips slide off because the oils are leaching out of the plastic grips. Remove the grips and spray some carburetor cleaner, laquer thinner or something like that down in there then dump it out...let dry and reinstall the grips. Whatever you use make sure you test first to make sure it doesnt melt the plastic.

great info, gonna do that today :D thanks again Riptor your a wealth of knowledge.

I use these and swap out die sets between smaller and larger pins. You can find the crimpers with the die set for large pins for around $30 online. I got the dies for the smaller pins (installed in the pics) for about $8 shipped.

Do you have a link for any of those dies or part numbers? I have those crimpers for insulated crimps and they are excellent. I've never seen any dies for .100 or .156 type pins though. I think GPE was looking into having them made at one time though.

These look like some pretty decent crimpers. I like the interchangable dies but I think I would get tired of swapping them around.
