Does anyone know what material is used to finish the edges of a defender cocktail (which would normally be T-molding on a regular cab)? And any idea where to get it?

I started looking into this a while ago and it seemed like some kind of heat activated product that you could attach with an iron, hot air etc but that's as far as I got.... never really got to the bottom of it but a restore approaches and this is one of the big sticking points!

My cocktail has sat with ragged edges for years while I contemplated this problem. I have asked around and not recieved a satisfactory answer. One person suggested black electrical tape.
Sorry I don't have much other than sympathy and interest to offer here.

The molding is adhesive backed and you apply it with a warm iron. You place aluminum foil between the molding and iron and as the glue gets warm, it will soften and the can then sorta slide it around into to place and then pull the iron away and it will cool off and stick. I can dig around in my garage and find a package and get the name for you. I had to special order it.

I think I still have some of this. I used to sell molding kits for cocktails a while back.. it's 3/4 inch black melamine strip.

I got mine from this company if Prok is out
