I've got a moldy Battlezone coming, and while I have a pretty good idea how to clean everything else I'm wondering what I can do to kill the mold smell on the cardboard artwork bezel which surround the monitor without destroying it? Any suggestions?

If you apply it lightly, any of the "mold and mildew" type shower cleaners will kill the mold and smell. Just beware that most of these products will discolor paint and artwork.

You'll have to dismount the cardboard, and lightly spray the back of it, let it dry and see if the smell is gone.

I've also had some success cleaning cardboard using a Swiffer Duster, it won't remove staining but it will safely take off all the dust.

I was thinking that people who restore books might have a solution to your mold problem.

It says to leave it out for an hour and that UV light kills mold.
You could just let it dry out side and brush the mold off.

Ethyl alcohol wipe down will help if there are mold stains.

They did talk about a light bleach wipe down. But I don't know how much bleach you need to kill off mold.

How to kill mold without bleach. Talked about tea tree oil, grapefuit seed and vinger.

You may one to try that.
