While I was soldering back the switch that controls whether I'm running Star Wars or Empire Strikes Back, I started wondering...
Are switches likes the one used on Clay's mod safe? If I discharge static electricity into the switch (just accidentally by touching it when my body has a charge...), isn't it going to go straight into the PCB and potentially blow it (or a chip) up?
The switch is wired into Clay's PCB, so something on that might blow up. But in the worst case, perhaps the charge would make its way into the official Star Wars PCB?
Just wondering if any electronics guys out there have any thoughts. I'm sure Star Wars isn't the only game with a mod that this concern is applicable.
