heres the issue, my high kick on player one works when first turned on, after i left it on attract mode for several minutes and after that it doesnt work. So i turned the game off and turn it back on and the high kick works again. any idea wtf is goin on? i replaced the button switch already. and another problem, the sound is cracking and its annoying, is it my sound chip going bad?? any one have these issues with Ultimate mortal kombat 3?

I'm no scholar on the subject, but maybe the input chip that controls the high kick is what's at fault. you would have to find whichever contact on the JAMMA edge is that particular high kick and follow the trace to that component. see if it gets hot, or if you got the board loose, just flip it over with the game turned off and inspect the solder joints for cold solder, cause I'm certain those were still through-hole components on the Wolf-unit boards.

scratchy sound could be a number of things. there's a couple socketed chips that drive the sound (one is like driver software and the other is the hardware that runs it) and there's a cap or two that handles the amplifier I think (the black heatsink part near the JAMMA edge)

I'm extremely tired and I don't have any of my boards at home, so hopefully someone else can chime in that knows for certain what they're talking about.

thanks mecha for the prompt reply. ill take a look at the board later and c whats going on.
