So i got my MK2 board from ebay and it works great for 50 bucks!!

He did not send, however, then 9 pin wiring harness from the CPU to the sound board. Should I just make my own or try and hunt down one?

use your browsers "find on page" function type in "NBA" or "MK2" it's right under the replacement sound boards (i'm pretty sure he's out of those).

Cut and pasted from parts page:

For above snd bds: Ribbon cables or power cables
or replacement volume control & cable--your choice $7.50

I ended up just building a 9 pin harness for the sound. This is kinda the reason I wanted to get into playing with these arcades/boards.

And I made it work! I have sound, but for some reason, its really quiet. The sound board for MK2 does not have a sound pot, and I have the sound pot on the cabinet ALL the way up. Its a 100K on the cabinet and i checked the ohms and it is good.

What is weird is the BUNGGG! in the beginning is loud, but the game itself is quiet. Would that be a problem with the amplifier on the sound board? Is the BUNGGG! coming from the Main CPU board?

You adjust the sound volume in the test settings

nba jam has a different sound board harness from mk2, as for the buttons..... you'll be able to play 2 player nba jam no problem with everything left the way it is as it will only use the block hp/hk buttons (3 button game). to be able to play against a friend or have 3-4 players you'll need the 3/4p harness. everything else tho is the same (including the volume pot).
