MK2 for $800? - NYC

LOL what? From the sound of what? What sound did I make that would draw you to that conclusion?

It's a fair starting point in that you can then say, "799". You're both establishing a starting point. I could sympathize with your perspective if the concept was difficult to grasp, what I don't so much get is going into a raging dry hump because someone is starting a haggle.

I'll stoop to your level and be judgmental about one thing: I bet your tune changes when you're on the buying end of this situation.

I paid $200 for a gutted MK1 cab just for the side art. So no I'm not cheap nor do I low ball.

Maybe I'm just hating cause I had so many people do what you describe and in the end they're just time wasters and don't even show up. You ever do that? LOL

Have I ever not shown up after locking in a price and time to pick up? No. I'd expect my reputation to be complete shit for doing that. Have I had discussions where neither side could commit to a price that made both sides happy. Yes. That's how it goes.

I'll tell you the guys I don't like that deserve this whole "fuck lowballers" thing. The ones that would check out an 800 MK2 and offer 300. Then when counter offered, talk shit about the machine and offer 300. Countered again, and whine and talk more shit and stick at 300. Countered one last time and still talk shit while sticking to 300. They are as much a waste of time as the guys that sell for over-inflated prices and won't negotiate.

If you want your one incident of over paying to be your badge of honor, that's your thing. It doesn't mean everyone not willing to toss 200 at an empty MK machine isn't serious or is out to screw you. Hell. I paid 200 for an empty cabinet...my very first machine in 97. I walked away realizing I should have negotiated more than anything else.

I like that you're swearing and mad. I didn't over pay for my MK1 with mint side art, but I definately didn't try to get the cab for bits of string either. No Badge of honor, just no Time wasting bullshit.

Don't be mad. You like to "haggle" and nickel & Dime people that's cool. Not my fault you're just that guy I avoid LOL

Haggling is a game that you just have to expect going into a sale. If you really don't want to deal with it you can always add the word "firm" after your price.

However, in the case of a sale like this where the seller basically has to move this cab one way or another, he would need a lot of conviction about his selling price to turn down $300 cash, especially if it's right there on the spot.

I'm mad. lol Ok. Just like I hate 90's games?

I'm just trying to explain to you where people are coming from sending you their initial offer. I'm obviously not going to change your mind.

It's all good man. I do see where you're coming from but at the same time I have had a lot of time wasters and when I get a low initial offer like that it's almost insulting.

Craigslist can be annoying sometimes.

You did get mad though LOL. Ahh I'm just breaking your balls

For that cab I wouldn't even pay $200. That guy definitely got ripped off. HE should have done HIS homework when he bought it. And even if it was original, expecting to get your money back on 99% of machines after so many years is pretty stupid.
