people love replying to my threads, so I'll just talk to myself before I do the obvious thing and just get another donor board or something..

I acquired a MK T-unit board a few months back for a few dollars cause the game would reset and go completely batshit. the wonders of what a can of compressed air on the UE13 chip can do... I ran it tonight again finally and while the reset issue has gone away, I had the game on for the longest I have before and noticed that the whole screen went into a wavy mess. no graphical distortions beyond looking like an old broken TV.

now I'm trying to remember if this was the same video issue I had with my MK2 (one of the PLCC chips had a cracked socket and wasn't making full contact across all the pins, and I ran a cable tie around it to fix it) but the PLCC sockets are NOT cracked on the MK board, and I inspected the pins on the bottom and didn't see any obvious ones that could be touching each other or other traces.

I don't have video or a picture of it, but if you have T-unit experience I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. the question is, what could be causing this? do I have to go over the UE13 pins with a toothbrush and rubbing alcohol next? :)
