So last year I got help from you guys getting this thing working. Now we have a new issue this year. Need to get the pic looking good so I can trade this beast. Pic is too dim. I had a tv repair guy come out yesterday and he just looked inside and said you need new picture tubes. He really didn't do anything but try to look for a brightness pot on the chassis. I showed him the one on the front of the monitor. So shoots me a price of 500 a piece for the guns and then 450 for install if he can get them. Yeah I think I will pass.

So need your help fellas. Where can I start to bring the pic back? I can pick up a mits vs-50111 but not sure if this will swap over. I think that one is hd.

This is for house of the dead.

Thanks for all the help fellas.

Forget about that Monitor

Replace it with a RPTV any brand

or any smaller CRT base direct view tv, with s-video

Game is med res but outputs s-video to monitor

look on back of monitor, for s-video connector

if not it could be rgbhv cable, check it.

any RP 50 60 what ever 4:3 RPTV

Theres No pictures of the HOTD Rear Projection or hard to find.

before you break it down get a photo of the whole game.

don't worry about the picture now.

It needs to much to bring it back real good, just to old of RPTV

Ok will do some checking. What about ones that are hd? I would assume those will not work so need just a reg rptv then. Any brand? This one has a board in the front where everything hooks up to. S video, power, etc. would I need to worry about that? Hoping to find a similar model number and just switch out the guts if that is possible. The guy I want to trade this to is putting it in his arcade. So I think he wants to have the original style cabinet.

Right no HD RPTV or DLP

Never know what you guys are going to do, really

but the ones in the games some have a tv in a cabinet

other games use the tv cabinet as the game sides.

anyway any brand 4:3 aspect ratio that fits in the cabinet

and the viewable area is seen to fit cab window.

take out the one in there and measure its size, to match up with the next one.

the ones in the home don't have burnin, and not used as much as a coin-op game.

I found a few on craigslist that are for free or low cost, need a working remote also

for advance adjustments.

you can test any tv with the gun, before putting in cabinet.

You know HD tvs are wider and not the same as non-hd tv

the games do have a converter board for the resolution

from med res to s-video.

Newer light box chassis by mits can swap in a home tv chassis

but yours has the crt mounted to the side cabinet, which is not a light box

you see what a light box is in the photos.

soooo in you monitor if the crt brackets are mounted to the sides it is not

a light box, it would be need to be fixed, or remove whole monitor

this model was not a good chassis rptv and has coolant leak's as well

caps have been an issue on all their models and now dark burnt tube faces.

but the Hitachi and others don't have those issues, from the beginning of the chassis line.

you have to get your measurements first!

Good Luck!

Thank you sir
I appreciate your help and will see what I can get my hands on. Will post back what happens.
