I don't have the key for the coin door. Can't open it. Need advice??

Plan A)
Pull the lock from the rear wood panel and get a locksmith to make a key for that lock. Hopefully it will also match the front coin door.. btw...Everything on this game is original from 1982.

Blasting caps.

Wow -- that's really a crude solution.

I usually just douse in lighter fluid and set 'er on fire for about 20 min -- works every time -- the charred remains of the door just pop right open!

and this way your cabinet is way lighter.

i like to take a sawzall and cut the door out then just take that to a locksmith

Alright, so lets pick on the new guy huh???? Geez....

Hey if that really is a Midway cab, I have been successful at reaching over with a box end wrench and loosing the nut, and removing the cam. Did this to a Pac Man and a Galaxian that I had back end access too but not coin door access.

I kinda want to keep the original coin door lock. Do you think the same key fits the coin lock and back cabinet lock?

I'm sure it's not the same lock that came with the machine from the factory. Ops would swap those locks out for their own which were keyed alike.

i invested short money in a lock pick set. if you thinking of getting into the hobby and plan on getting more cabs its not a bad way to go plus youll learn a new skill.
otherwise just drill it only takes a few

I got a cab and only found the key to one of the two (coin door/cash door) keys in it. Like an idiot, I had a locksmith redo the lock i didn't have the key for to match the key I had, only to find the other key a week after the rekeyed lock was back in there. Then managed to break they key off in the door 2 days later. tl;dr - just get a new lock for a couple bucks, life's way easier that way.

Midway Ms. Pacman cabinets all had the back door keyed alike to Fort Lock key # 1355 (double bitted). If you have a 1355 key you can take off the back door, reach in and undo the control panel latches. Now lift off control panel and you can easily remove the coin door lock without damage.

Now you can either take that lock to a locksmith and have him make a key to fit that lock or you can go buy a lock at the hardware store.
