The lower half of my back box lights and top left of playfield General Illumination isnt working.

I noticed the Pin house was a little toasty, so i replaced it, and no change. Both GI Fuses test good.

I checked the voltages across the CN8.

Voltage across pins 2/8 is measuring at 1.04 V. It is labeled Speaker Panel / Backbox Door. The rest of the voltages on this connector are fine.

Not sure why this voltage is missing / how do I fix. Any ideas?

Check all your connectors.. I'd bet you'll find a few more toasty ones.. Can't remember if DE used a interconnect pcb (everything plugs into it). If they did, reflow the solder on all the header pins. Most GI or power issues are usually because of loose connections, tired pins, or header pins that are burnt.

Did you replace the header too? You might have bad solder joint, etc. Might want to do a cap kit on the power supply while it's out.

I had the bottom half of the GI out in my DE Hook I bought because a tech the prev. owner hired missed soldering the bottom pin. One of the easiest fixes I have ever done. It took longer to trace down the non working coil to a bad solder joint on a large diode on the PPP board.

JP I recently had was missing half back box too. Had a burnt connector inside the back door on left hand side. One of those z style connectors. Didn't see it at first.

Like others said, gotta replace headers too. Cold solder joints, etc..

Did you replace the pins inside the housing, or just the housing? On ANY burnt connector you need to replace the male and female parts. If you replace only one, it probably won't fix the problem and the old burnt part of the connector will quickly burn the new part.
