Hi.
I have some trouble getting this to work properly...

Reseated all the chips.... and...

Now, there´s clearly something wrong with the monitor... WAY to much red in there!!...
Have tried to adjust it without any luck....

Oh, and the bright spot on the monitor is from a speaker (magnet *;D)

Could be any number of things. Check the edge connector on the PCB, to ensure that the wiring harness is making good contact - sometimes that can cause a color not to even make it to the monitor. On the monitor side, check the solder joints on the video input header. These very frequently crack causing lost colors.

Do you have another game/monitor you can try this on, to verify that the game board and cabinet wiring are good?

What kind of monitor is this?

Thanks for the quick reply!

The monitor is an Electrohome....

I have mingled with the edge connector, but it haven't given any result, though the "fingerboard" on the MC PCB is a bit used....
I give it a go on the monitor side!

This is the only MC game i have...

Cracked solder joints on the video input header are really common on those. Pull the chassis out and reflow them all. Also, inspect the neckboard for cracks, and ensure that none of the metal tabs on the drive transistors are touching anything.

It's hard to tell here at work, as my monitor is really, really worn out and displays images very poorly. But I see a very clear, defined red image - no haze or retrace lines, and no other colors. If you had a shorted gun or shorted transistor, you'd have a haze over the whole screen.

And double check the harness connector at the game board. I've seen more than a couple where the pins were dirty or worn and causing missing colors. Gently pressing on and wiggling the connector with the game on, have a mirror (or an assistant) check to see if any of the colors flash back in.

Between this and your ICB thread, I love how you use "mingled". Makes me laugh every time.

Also, when I said "another game" I meant "any other color raster game". All the monitors are pretty interchangeable. You can rule out the game board by backing another game up behind MC (preferably another one that uses a G07, 4900, or other old monitor, since I think MC uses positive sync), unplugging the video cable from the Missile Command monitor and plugging it into the monitor in the other game. Turn both games on, and Missile Command will show up on the other game's monitor. If all the colors are there, then your game board and wiring is all good.

Ah, ok, ill see if i have such a monitor in another game!
Thanks

Hehe, is it not the correct word or can i use another?? :D

It's not the correct word. :) You could say "played with the edge connector" or "messed with the edge connector" or "toyed with the edge connector" but not "mingled with the edge connector". :)

That's a problem in the video summing circuit on the board. The ICBM trails are supposed to be red, and yet the rest of the screen is red.

Yep, you're right, and the screen supposed to be black..
Can you point the circuit out on the MC PCB?? - if it´s changeable, i got 2 other MC PCB´s i can use something from, if this is "broken"....

L8, M7, L7, in that order.

It could also very well be the address decoder @ E8. Those 42's are notorious for failing. If you have a logic probe check the output of E8 pin 4.
