Was hooking up a new starter and bulb in my Missile Command cab. Powered off, hooked up the bulb (no socket, just leads to bulb), and powered back up. On powering up the starter was flickering and glowing brightly and bulb did not light. Just getting garbage on screen and a raspy noise from speakers. Swapped leads to the bulb, powered back on, and bulb lights up now, but still no game. Tried disconnecting speakers/light and same thing.

Wtf exactly did I do now? Any guesses? :/

Check your fuses in the main feed line - there should be two. It sounds like you have a voltage drop in the cabinet.

Disconnect the power to the lamp next - you may have a lame ballast, dropping the 120v into the game brick and AR2 board, which would cause your voltage to drop.

Meter out your AR2 board as well - see what you have, and make sure to check for AR ripple.

I looked up causes of A/R-II ripple and noted that the big blue could cause it. Replaced the big blue and diodes on the power supply assy and I'm back up and running. Thanks a lot! :D
