Hey guys, I'm working on a Missile Command CT that's giving me a headache. It's been so long since I've played one so I need some info. When the game is on and not being played should the P1 and P2 lighted buttons flash or stay on? Does the game have any sound in attract mode?
Basically this is whats going on, when I power on the game the screen comes on completely blue. The P1 and P2 buttons are lit (not blinking) the LED on the main PCB is steady on. When I attempt to coin up I get nothing, no sound and the counter doesn't register. All fuses check out and I checked my voltage on the AR and the main PCB, all check out within specs.
I have a feeling that the main PCB is dead but I'd like to see if there's anything else I can trouble shoot before I send it out to be fixed (by the way, anyone know a good MC tech?) Also, I was wondering if I could put this MC board in my Centipede just to see if I get different results? Looks to me like the MC and CP board are wired very similarly, any one have any confirmation on this?
Thanks guys, I appreciate any help.

no sounds in attract that i am aware of and the player buttons should only come on when the board is credited or set to freeplay and then they blink, not solid light.you most likely have faulty board and these boards are stubborn.

i had 2 fixed and they both bumped out within minutes of powering on.
:)

Thanks for the info. any chance you know if the P1 and P2 buttons light up while it's in test mode? Wondering if the ST switch has an issue. Thanks.

no,in test mode you flip the switch and it comes up with noises and it gos through a screen with ram etc shown,so no,it aint stuck in test mode as it would at least give you a sound.

in fact flip the switch and see what sounds you get, even some faulty boards sound off.
