Missile Command CP

Don't you just hate that ? I do. Time to black list these kind of people IMHO.

It bugs me, because they'll sell it a few months later for nearly double what they paid. So someone who recently acquired a game or didn't see the initial run thread are stuck paying more to someone who bought it solely to flip it. I don't think we should necessarily blacklist them, but I do take note of the people who constantly do this.

absolutely. It's a disgusting practice and has no place in this hobby.

I have purchased things like this after the run, and didn't mind paying a little more. Most of the people that do these only make a few extra or the items. When they are gone, they are gone. So I am glad someone bought one to sit on. It was pay a little more, or not get one at all. Double is a bit much, but a little more doesn't bug me, especially when they pay double shipping, storing, etc.

If it is too much, then don't buy it. At least you had an option.

Some repro projects would never get done if it wasn't for people buying them to sit on, resell, or getting them just in case. Sometimes people buy extras just to make the number required to get the project going.

So, get in on the initial run, pay a little more after, or don't get one at all.

Should we get mad at the people doing the reproduction for charging more after the preorder as well?

This is very true

hi
first of all i understand where your coming from but you had the chance. maybe you missed it but most of the people i talk to after the fact just say they didnt have the extra cash to buy it and figured that i will get done again.

if you dont buy any or just buy one sometimes its hard to make the run work out. so its the guys that buy more than one and sit on them that actually make the run happen.

also yes to some its a hobby and to other its a business also. i look at it like this if you can make your hobby work for a business and have fun doing it thats great.

Thanks for the heads up guys, hope they will get done again..... my MC needs a new CP _BADLY_

Nahhhhhhh, keep it as is, 28 years of untouched goodness is on there.
Over 10,000 sunrises and sundowns went over it waiting patiently to be rescued just in the nick of time, before going down with the ship.

......

OK replace it, but make a nice "statue" or wall-art out of it to honour all this ;););)

This just proves a point that the vendors of this hobby are not like your typical retail store.

Typical retail store has supply chains that can meet demands when a customer requests a item.

Most of these arcade parts are not being produced. There are only a handfull of people making items for this hobby. Remove all those who produce reproduction art work, remove those who just resale parts and I bet you can count them on one hand.

So when we see an item come up for sale. If we have extra cash we buy them and put them on the shelf even tho we do not current have a need for one. We end up being hoarders because we know the pile of parts art shrinking. We understand that a vendor may make a run and never do another one because of health, family, money or insert your own reason.

Sometime we miss a deal and there is some one willing to sell their later on. Do not cont on this happening always. Some deals never come round again. It just the nature of this hobby.
Some will sell an item at a higher price than they bought it. At least it is available, there are many items which are just not available any more.

I miss this missile command deal so I bought a few used ones and the best one is just sitting on my mc. For me it just good enough. If these do come back up for sale and I have he Xtra cash you bet I will be buying at least 5 of them just to stick on the shelf.
