I've got this Missile Command Cocktail from Edward Scandon with its cabinet in quite a rough shape but with good electronics. Tube was adapted by previous owner (not Edward), it's not a cocktail chassis, so he cut the wood leaving debris all over the place.

I took everything off, cabinet was relaminated and fixed while preserving originality. Top had a black paint before, I chose to laminate it as well and it became a lot nicer. Since I couldn't find a plexy replacement, it was polished. I've made a new cardboard bezel. Power brick was zinced, big blue replaced, a switch was installed (it came without one) and it received a new power chord.

As for the trackballs: after numerous tests, I decided to go for the translucent and lighter spheres, using the original case and replacing shafts and bearings. During my illumination tests, I've found out the original incandescent lamp provided with the kit is too weak. A LED lamp came out good, but eventually I've found a stronger incandescent lamp, and the result of the color through the sphere was much better, due to the lamp white temperature.

Tube was mounted again, however with small wood levers to place it a little higher than before (it was crushing the power transformer). I also replaced all electric connections with better ones. Save high scores and multigame kit was installed and edge connectors were repined, thanx to the KLOV members advice I've got.

Glass decal came from Escape Pod. It was a little larger than the new glass I've made. To avoid cutting the adhesive, I had to order another glass, a little larger. It was tricky to apply the decal, especially the Atari logos. It went as good as it could, I'd say 90%.

The end result made me happy. I think this arcade is restored to glory.

Please note: I live in Brazil, so I had to import everything, making stuff much challenging and time demanding, no counting on cash. Everything costs around 2,5x more considering shipping and taxes.

Bravo! I love cocktails, but I cannot play them as I am 6'4" and my knees eat the control panel. This is one of the few cocktails I'd love to have, but I'd have to be on my knees to play.

Very nice.

Can you explain how you zinced the power supply metal plate?
