I entered so that when I win, Brian could play on it when he breaks the marathon WR. :)

This is interesting from the rules section, Atari set their own price:
"PRIZES: (GRAND PRIZE - one (1) will be awarded): The Grand Prize consists of an original Atari Missile Command Cabinet. The approximate retail value ("ARV") of the Grand Prize is $1,950."

You guys should start selling your MCs.

i'm no tax expert, but if they're using a figure of $2k for the value, wouldn't someone who's in the 25% tax bracket then be paying about $500 in income tax for that game?

Yeah, and it's "refurbished" too so that could mean anything. I wonder if it will have cigarette marks and soda stains.

I signed up for the contest as well. Let the junk mail/email/phone calls begin!!!

Yeah, that's one reason I don't sign up for those types of things. The chances of winning are slim...the chances of spam and phone calls are certain :D

So who is supplying this refurbished game? I bet it's a source we know. Possibly a retailer from the bay or LA. And yeah taxes might kill this one for me if I won. Although if it's truly refurbished I suppose it would be worth $500. Bet I could grab a nice MC for $100-150 though.

Yes, but you can offset the prize winnings with any gambling losses (losing lottery tickets, horse racing tickets, etc.).

Q: How do you normally buy your videogames?

A: In their original arcade form.
