So I was on the phone to a guy who was selling a non working galaga for 100 bucks. Different side panel. but the marquee and fronjt kick plate looks good from the photo.

While I was on the phone and the guy was giving me directions His wife sold it.
Laughs.

Missed it by that much. Smiles
Next deal.

I feel for ya man. Saw a post on CL about 2 hours ago for a non-working galaga, $200 obo. When I saw it, it had been posted for about 3 1/2 hours.

Wanted to swing by and check it out after work and hopefully work out a deal, but the guy had already sold it. Pretty bummed on that one, Galaga is my fav game of all time, and would have been a great project to work on after I finish restoring my Ms. Pac-Man.

two month old post Laughs.

They were having a garage sale at the time.
She sold the game while I was on the phone to him.

Cheap games do show up from time to time even on here.
100 galaga came from CL, 150 galaga came from Ebay, 100 phoneix came from here.
100 NBA jam came from CL.
Mind you all the games when I got them didn't work but they do work now.

Well,at least you have a steady supply of games to miss by that much. Pretty dry for arcade listings here. I usually have to search the DFW area to find anything decent.

I am trying to sell games to make a purchase, and I have had to really ignore cl (hard to do when I am posting on there). In the last week or so, there was a $150 Arkanoid, and a $150 working Pole Position. I am really hoping they are already sold. There are a lot of cheap games around here sometimes.

A couple of months ago, I called on a $150 Defender. The guy was at a ball game with his kid, so I told him to call me when he was done so he could enjoy the game. Nice guys really do finish last. When he was driving home, he called and said that another guy had been calling him all during the rest of the game and was now waiting at his house.

I tried the whole you said I was first thing, and he said he would try to stall him. I wish that never happened. I got to the house, went in, and saw what looked like a HUO Defender. Then he said...He already gave me the money. That one hurt. :)

shit. totally missed the classic 'newb recycles ancient posts' move.

It's ok only by 2 months, I have seen posts recycles after 5 years, Laughs.

Copnsidering I live on the border of LA county/Orange county in California. You figure that picking would be easier and closer laughs NOT.

The 100 galaga came from riverside. 2 hours drive through traffic Friday traffic.
The 100 NBA Jam came from thousand oaks it was in parts.
The 150 Galaga came from santa maria. Not a small drive. Montior threw off a nice 1" blue spark.
The 200 phoniex was in palm dale. Missing keys Coin door missing parts..
The 100 phoniex was in san Diego. 220V unit.

He should have just told the guy it was spoken for. Obviously the guy offered him more. But if he had any honor he would have sold it to you.

I had something similar happen with a Star Wars years ago. But the guy gave me every lie in the book when it was time for me to go pick it up. The game couldn't be bought up, because it was "too heavy". Then the game was "in the neighbor's basement". And what do you know, the neighbor was conveniently "out of town". Finally, he said he sold it to someone else. (I guess I was not destined to get that $100 Star Wars anyway).

Now, so far I've spent between $800 and $900 to build a Star Wars from various parts and It's sitting like a big paper weight because I can't get my Amplifone and game boards back from the guy who was supposed to fix them for me. :(

Speaking of getting cheap games, I've been watching this and I'm surprised that it got no bids: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170659786495
