Anyone have any luck with something besides minwax wood hardner on swollen mdf cabs? Its a pain to get and only comes in one size, there's another brand called pc petrifier i can order larger sizes of, but wanted to see if there was something better or if minwax was worth the trouble

not that hard to get ;)

END OF LINE.

its not like Super swollen from water damage, some of it is just slightly raised, but if you sand it it just turns to dust, i want the hardener for restorative as well as preventative uses

You might be better off sanding to the point where it's not dust any more, then filling with Bondo. If it's really bad, you're probably better off cutting out the piece and replacing. After you're done, you should clear coat it, or paint it to seal the wood.

The only wood hardner thatmy local HD carries is an elmers version which is just a huge jug of glue. Same consistency and everything. I get my minwax hardner from True Value.

Is there a resin out there that would work even better than the minwax?
