FS Game: Minty Tempest (broken) $1,000.00

EDIT 3/19/2013
I've touched up the back/backdoor with paint, I think it looks much better.
I glued back in the bottom board.
I've also cleaned the chassis or neckboard and deflector board.
The wires are pretty hacked up (for the chassis) this monitor is defiantly a replacement.
I've cleaned up the power supply and plan to do a better job sweeping out the inside.
I've had some questions about the neck being cracked, it certainly is not.
Ill update pictures soon.
OBO
I'll accept offers of $750 or above and consider those at or above $700.

My advice.. take the 650. I bought a working one for 600 once. I recently bought a 'minty' non working one for 100 and it did not come with a mouse.

I sold my last Tempest for $900 after rebuilding the monitor. Even then it was a difficult sale, took a couple months for anybody to express any interest. Take the $650 and feel blessed that someone will pay that much for a non-working game as common as Tempest.

agreed, ed

$650 is waaaaay more than fair. You should take that offer.

I'd be surprised if the guy who offered $650 doesn't no show, turn up their nose at the condition, or show up with less money intending to lowball/tire kick though.

Yup, the $650 was less then the minimum obo I had set up to accept so it was non-binding. I shot them back saying I might take $700 and then they came back with $600. I'll just forget about it.

Anyways I bought the cab for a project for myself and ended the listing. I think with a couple hours of elbow grease cleaning out the inside and sending out some parts I'll have the nicest OEM cab this side of the Mississippi. If your a subject matter expert and would like to extend out your services for a fee let me know.

man. i purchased my mint tempest for 6 bucks.

mint.

is that being a price cop? i don't mean to be. look at pinball machines. they're all stupid overpriced.

i fixed my tempest for 5 bucks. sold it for $950, back in 2002. one of the few games that wasn't a long term keeper for me.

good luck with the refurb. fun to repair. boring to own.

Darn. I missed the dogpile. Why didn't someone update the drama thread? Anyway, did pics of this beast ever show up? I'm curious what we are dealing with here. It doesn't work, right? What's wrong with it exactly? Did I just not read the thread carefully enough?

It had a nest in it and damage. But, it will soon be the nicest OEM cab out there.

edit: especially after painting stuff and gluing parts back in.

Whatever. Don't care what you say but this will never be in your words "the nicest OEM Tempest this side of the Mississippi" no matter what you do. It's already so far past original that statement is just ludicrous.

How?
blah blah message to short.

Now that this is no longer a sale thread :D .........There is an $1,100 working tempest near me that hasn't been touched. It's been listed for months. When I first started collecting in 2011 a nice working one for $600 didn't sell for a long time. I offered the guy $450, but he declined. Looking back I think $600 was a decent price, but that's working. I now feel I should have grabbed that one. :)
