How much would a Cliffhanger working condition with laser player go in today's market. Then how much would the same Cliffhanger go for with a Dexter inside.I hear prices from $5000-$8000 in today's market.A few people said it will be a $10,000 game soon.

I find that hard to believe, but there may be someone out the desperate enough to pay that. They are pretty rare... I just highly doubt that the demand for a Cliffhanger would be high enough to warrant $10k.

Overseas buyers in my laser arcade Facebook group said 2 just sold recently overseas for $6900 and $7100.Coinopwarehouse just sold a non working one missing a gpu board fresh out a warehouse in Maryland for $3800.One sold over here on KLOV to the guy Italy a few years ago for $5000.Another friend of mind sold one recently for $7000 working mint.So I personally believe $10,000 in not a far fetch price in today market.

Sounds like you're looking for affirmation, not opinions. My bad.

Sorry did'nt mean it like that.I'm just getting so much different information and stories. For example Exidy says $2500-$4500 for a Cliffhanger.I just explain and make examples of the recent sales of these games.I'm just asking some opinions on the subject over here on KLOV.You never gave a price danreedphoto just these words that really don't answer anything.I find that hard to believe, but there may be someone out the desperate enough to pay that. It's such a rare game, I really can only speculate on price. If these things have been selling in the 8-10k range, go for it. It is what it is on price. Exidy's guide was outdated the minute he published it, IMO-- put it out there for $10k and see what happens. You can always go down.

My 2 cents is put it on eBay. Chances are you will get more eyes on it there than you would here and promote it over at the Dragon's Lair forums. Those guys love this stuff.

If I had to guess, you will get between $5-6k for it if you find the right buyer here in the US. I just don't see the demand, but maybe it's there and I'm totally wrong. It's an interesting title for sure, but probably not $10k interesting.

NOW POST A PICTURE OF THE DAMN THING. :)

It's a really cool game and I'd love to have one, but I suspect your market is limited AND when you get into higher dollar games it's not always as simple as "mint condition." If the game is mint and in original unrestored condition vs a mint amateur restoration with reproduction artwork then you may see a large difference in price.

So, I'd make sure that when you're looking at past sales, you are looking at truly comparable machines. A mint, unrestored original could be much more valuable than a mint restoration job. The Dexter instead of the original player and disc could also really hurt the value. I'm not that familiar with the market for these but these difference can make a HUGE impact in the value of pinball machines.

In the end it's very hard to say because they are so rare and the market is pretty niche/small. Another thing that can happen is that if most of the guys who REALLY wanted them just bought them all up, then you may not have much of a high-dollar market left.

I know none of this really goes to price but I do think its a good idea for you to make sure you're comparing apples to apples when you try to figure out what its worth.

Not for me it wouldn't; it would be the opposite. Dexter is preferable. 100% original doesn't mean shit to me if the game is unplayable because working specimens of the model of player used in Cliff Hanger are practically extinct and even if you find one, good luck finding parts and service for it when it breaks, which likely will be the day after you get it.

Seriously, laser disc games are the one area in this hobby where all original really isn't a positive. Give me Dexter or give me death (for laser disc games, anyway).

You don't know until you list it on eBay. But a good bet you will need to ship it. Probably out of the USA.

If you still have the original player, you should include it.

I agree I have the original player and it works but the Dexter is a better option in my eyes.
